Military Trial Has Iraqis Fuming
The military trial of Staff Sgt. Frank Wuterich for killing 24 civilians in Haditha in Iraq concluded with a demotion. The case highlights the competing claims for justice between the US military and the Iraqi public. The US pulled out of Iraq after that country's leadership failed to allow the US immunity from prosecution of its soldiers. Many Iraqis see the light sentence as a slap in the face to their country and cause for belief that justice will never be served by the US.The Fed believes the economic slowdown will continue at least another 18 months and keeps rates low.
